A full day of Finnish Wind Power

Our main event – Wind Finland is the most significant event in Finland dedicated to wind power. With over 500 participants from over 12 countries, the event provides an opportunity to meet other people in the industry and learn from the latest winds. Cocktails and an Evening Event with dinner and entertainment follow the seminar day making it a full day of wind power and networking within the industry.

Giles Dickson is the CEO of WindEurope. WindEurope is the voice of the European wind industry. It represents the whole value chain of onshore and offshore wind across Europe and has more than 500 members. It engages Governments and other stakeholders on policy and regulation. It organises industry exhibitions, conferences and workshops. And it coordinates publicly-funded R&D in wind.  

Nils de Baar

Regional President Northern and Central Europe – Vestas
How industry will deliver on Wind Energy ambitions in Europe

Nils de Baar joined Vestas in 2015 and currently is Group Senior Vice President and President of Region Northern & Central Europe. The region is responsible for sales, marketing, installation and operation of wind power plants both onshore and offshore. The region covers Germany, Benelux, Austria, the Nordics, UK, Ireland, Russia, the Baltics & Eastern Europe.

Before joining Vestas, Nils worked for over 19 years at Ericsson where he held various commercial leadership positions. 

 

Antti Harjula

Head of Power System Engineering Unit – Fingrid
Enabling faster integration and less curtailment of wind power with dynamic line rating

Antti Harjula works in Fingrid as manager of Power System Engineering unit. Antti has over 15 years of experience with power system planning, wind power integration studies and system technical performance analysis. He was project manager of the dynamic line rating (DLR) pilot project in Fingrid and has steered the work on DLR also after the project.

Vivi Mathiesen

Vivi Mathiesen has more than 20 years’ professional experience from the Nordic and European electricity markets, foremost over ten years for the Norwegian Regulatory Authority. As Head of Wholesale Markets and Interconnectors at the Norwegian Regulatory Authority, Vivi established the Regulator´s market surveillance unit.  

Vivi has also worked for the Nordic Council of Ministers managing an intergovernmental working group. In this role she prepared four annual Ministry declarations for furthering the integration of Nordic electricity markets. 

Prior to joining Heimdall Power Vivi worked as a Policy Advisor to the Norwegian Association for hydro generators and grid companies. In this role Vivi was responsible the Association´s work on developing Norwegian DSOs uptake of flexibility initiatives and for negotiating tariffs with the transmission system operator on behalf of the electricity industry. 

Heimdall Power is a leading technology company who delivers real time observability and situational awareness for grid operators, coupling software and advanced sensor technology to optimise operations. 

Hannele Holttinen

Dr Hannele Holttinen is currently Senior Adviser and Partner at Recognis Oy. She is acting as Operating Agent of international research collaboration IEAWIND Task 25 since 2006, and working for G-PST (Global Power System Transformation Consortium) Pillars 1 and 5.

She has her MSc and PhD from Helsinki Technical University, where she is Docent since 2014. She worked previously at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland for more than 25 years in different fields of wind energy and energy system integration research, last years as Principal Scientist. She has chaired IEAWind in 2011-12, and has been active in European Wind Energy Platforms ETIP and TPWIND as well as in Nordic energy research.
