A full day of Finnish Wind Power

On October 1st 2024 Wind Finland brings together specialists of the wind power industry in Helsinki. 

The seminar will gather up to 850 guests in Kaapelitehdas to share new ideas and learn from our top speakers about the latest winds. Cocktails and a networking dinner follow the seminar day making it a full day of wind power within the industry.

Taamir is the founder of Taaleri Energia in 2010 and has been one the pioneers in Finnish wind energy transition. Today Taaleri Energia manages a development portfolio of more than 50 projects and has invested in 27 projects consisting of 384 wind turbines, 850 000 solar panels and 30MW of batter storage and the invested capital into these projects is close to 3 billion euros. Taamir has gathered experiences with wind, solar and battery projects around the world and has plenty of knowledge and stories to share.

Anni is the CEO of the Renewables Finland (former Finnish Wind Power Association) since 2009. During her time the association and the importance of wind power in the Finnish energy sector have increased significantly. Anni is one of the leading wind power experts in Finland. She holds a master’s degree in Environmental Sciences (MSc) and Corporate Environmental Management (M. Econ). 

Ville Niinistö

Ville is a member of the European Parliament. In the European parliament he works in the committees on Industry, Research and Energy, Security and Defence and Foreign Affairs.

Niinistö served as Finland’s Minister of the Environment from 2011 to 2014. Niinistö is a former member of the Finnish parliament, former party leader of the Green Party of Finland and a current member of the city council of Turku.

Juha, M.Sc. (Tech) works as Business Area Director at Ålandsbanken Funds, where he heads the fund company’s energy funds: open-ended special fund Ålandsbanken Wind Power and close-ended Ålandsbanken Offshore Wind I LP, both first of their kind in Finland. Prior to joining Ålandsbanken, Juha worked for 20 years as a consultant advising both domestic and international clients in complex investment projects. His key areas of expertise are Nordic electricity markets and EU emissions trading system as well as finance and energy production technologies.

Having the overall responsibility of the transmission system operation in Finland for last two years, Tuomas shares insights to the present and coming opportunities and challenges in Finnish power system seen from the perspective of the Finnish transmission system operations. The focus here, along with his main responsibility, is all about ensuring the secure electricity in Finland and having success in this task not only requires solid contribution, but also generates business opportunies, for all the grid connectees. Before the present position, Tuomas has been working with Fingrid in various positions in the main business processes: planning, asset management and market development. He has been also working some years with academia and technology industry in between the Fingrid positions.

Jenny-Li is a Legal Director at Taaleri Energia. Taaleri Energia invests in onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage. Jenny-Li also heads the firm’s sustainability efforts and has a passion for, not only contracts and the law, but also human rights and the environment. Jenny-Li has been a member of the board of directors of the Finnish Wind Power Association for over ten years.

Heidi, M.Econ. in Corporate Environmental Management, is Director of Operations in Renewables Finland (former Finnish Wind Power Association). She has been with the association for over ten years with a wide range of responsibilities within public relations, advocacy, and communications. Renewables Finland is the leading industry association for wind and solar power in Finland. The association is a key player, when it comes to providing information and forming the future of the industry of renewable energy in Finland.

Johannes has since 2019 worked at OX2 with a focus on renewables transactions in the Nordics. During this period, OX2 has brought app. 3GW of wind power to realization and the headcount of the company has picked up from less than 100 to the proximity of 1.000 professionals. OX2 is a fully integrated provider of renewable energy solutions at scale. OX2 is active globally and is considered being the leading renewables developer in the Nordics.

Johannes has played a vital role in OX2’s growth journey through managing sell-side transactions for more than 800MWs of onshore wind. He has also strengthened OX2’s future project pipeline through acquisitions of more than 2GW of onshore wind and solar pv. Owing to the intensive deal flow, Johannes has a comprehensive overview on the prevailing market sentiment. In addition, he is playing a part in OX2’s organizational upscaling process.

Johannes holds a degree in law and finance, and having experience from both fields reinforce his ability to efficiently manage projects. Johannes is also heading the leading renewables M&A team in Finland. He considers himself lucky to be surrounded by the most ambitious and talented colleagues in the industry, granting one a possibility to grow and develop each day. His core competencies lie within financial and legal structuring, efficient project management skills and being a growth catalyst.

Dr Hannele Holttinen is currently Professor of Practice at Aalto University, as well as RDI Lead, Energy systems at CLIC Innovation Oy. Through her own consultancy Recognis Oy she continues to coordinate international research on grid integration at IEA WIND (Task 25), and at G-PST (Global Power System Transformation Consortium). She worked previously at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland in different fields of wind energy and energy system integration research.

Sandra is Director Sustainability at Nordex, heading the company’s Sustainability Management team and driving the company’s sustainability strategy. Sandra has been with Nordex since 2017, starting in the Corporate Strategy & Development team before taking over her current role in early 2023. Prior to joining Nordex, she spent 6 years with the reinsurance company Swiss Re, holding different roles in the Risk Management department. Sandra holds a Diploma in Biology from Hamburg University as well as a PhD in Ecology from Justus-Liebig-University in Giessen.

Lia has over ten years of experience in business-driven ESG work as well as in the development of human rights and responsible supply chains. As sustainability lawyer with an extensive background in sustainability and human rights, her skill set centres around the ability to identify material ESG risks and opportunities, and further develop and implement appropriate management responses. Lia has also led buy-side and sell-side due diligence engagements for private equity and commercial clients in M&A across APAC and Europe. Lia is a respected expert in ESG and human rights whose expertise spans both corporate due diligence of supply-chains engagements and scholarly contributions.

Nikita has worked for eight years in AFRY Management Consulting. His primary focus is in power markets and renewable generation, where his responsibilities covers sales, project supervision and subject matter expertise.
