Wind Finland 2022
on the 11th of October in Pikku-Finlandia, Helsinki

Wind Finland is the biggest wind power seminar in Finland gathering 400 people from at least 12 different countries to learn from the latest winds in the industry and to network. The seminar is followed by cocktails and Wind Finland networking dinner, which makes it a full day of wind power and networking within the industry.

Kai Mykkänen is the Chair of the Parliamentary Group of National Coalition Party. He has worked as the Minister of Foreign Trade and Development 2016-2018 and as the Minister of Interior 2018-2019. He was also in response of the National Coalition’s energy policy under the previous government. Before being a member of parliament Mykkänen has worked at Sampo Bank in Russia and at the Confederation of Finnish Industries in Helsinki.

Niilo Mustonen is the leading public affairs expert in Finland. Before becoming a founding partner of Blic, he worked as a Director for Public Affairs at Pohjoisranta Burson-Marsteller.

Niilo has previously served in several positions in one of the biggest parties in Finland, the National Coalition Party (NCP), including Communications Manager of the NCP Parliamentary Group. During his time at the Parliament, he actively participated in drafting NCP policy on several sectors. Niilo’s wide network includes politicians and policy-makers from all parties and sections of the government and the media.

Veli-Pekka is a Professor in Russian Environmental Studies at the Aleksanteri Institute, Finnish Centre for Russian and Eastern European Studies at the University of Helsinki, and has the Title of Docent in Russian resource and energy policy at the National Defence University, Finland. He has led several academic research projects with wide international collaboration. He leads the Research Group on the Russian Environment that consists of dozen researchers focusing on energy and environmental policies; energy security; political power and culture in Russia. At the moment his team is focusing on visualization and politization of energy and waste flows in Russia and Finland. He outlines his multidisciplinary take on Russia in his book “The Energy of Russia. Hydrocarbon Culture and Climate Change”. Professor Tynkkynen is an experienced speaker with a wide track-record in giving lectures and courses at European and Russian universities. He has delivered tens of public talks, is frequently giving expert statements for authorities as well as is an oft-asked commentator at media.

Esa Holttinen holds a M.Sc. Degree in Technical Physics and has 30 years’ experience in wind power project development and construction, business development and business management. He is currently based in Oxford and steering AFRY’s wind business in the UK and Irish markets and coordinating the AFRY offshore and onshore wind business development globally. His project experience covers over 20 countries on 5 continents, and he specializes in business strategies of wind power producers and project developers, Due Diligence and M&A processes, and contractual structuring of wind farm projects.

Katja Perätalo advises clients on large-scale industrial construction and investment projects on a full lifecycle basis, and both in terms of non-contentious and contentious aspects. She has particular expertise in EPC & EPCM projects and other construction, services and procurement contracts especially within the heavy industries, construction, and energy sectors. She holds a Master of Science (Technology) degree from Aalto University and a Doctor of Laws degree from the University of Helsinki, with her doctoral dissertation covering liabilities in construction projects.

During her time the association and the importance of wind power in the Finnish energy sector have increased significantly.  Anni is leading wind power experts in Finland. Jussi Mäkinen is the Country Manager for Bertel O. Steen Power Solutions (BOS Power) in Finland. BOS Power is a part of Bertel O. Steen Group founded in 1901 in Norway. It is in the forefront working with its clients with battery energy storage, hydrogen production and emergency power solutions. It is also working in the marine sector with environmentally friendly propulsion solutions for e.g. crew transfer vessels for offshore wind farms.

Jussi has a long background in technology companies in Finland and abroad. He has also worked in consulting within the industrial and energy sectors before joining BOS Power in 2020.

Lauri Myllyvirta has over 10 years experience as an air pollution and climate expert. He has led numerous research projects on air pollution, assessing air quality and health impacts of energy policies, including more than a dozen modeling studies of the air quality and health impacts of coal-fired power plants. This research has been published and utilized in numerous countries in East Asia, Southeast Asia, South Asia, Europe, Turkey, South Africa and others. Lauri has also contributed to numerous publications around energy solutions and air pollution and is asked frequently to attend seminars and conferences as an expert speaker. He served as a member of the Technical Working Group on regulating emissions from large combustion plants in the EU and currently serves as a member of the expert panel on regulating SO2 emissions in South Africa.

Juha Halttunen joined the Blic in January 2019 after serving the former government and party in parliamentary duties since 2011. From 2015 until 2019, Juha served as a Special Adviser for the Minister of Employment, Mr. Jari Lindström and as the Head of Cabinet for Blue Reform ministerial group, thus holding the most important political advisory position in the party. Prior, he worked as an Economic Advisor for the Finns parliamentary group.
